The ECOWAS Commission participated in the Cyber Africa Forum #CAF2022, organized by CiberObs and Jeune Afrique Media Group, under the main theme “Digital Sovereignty and Data Protection: Levers for the Continent’s Growth”. (Digital sovereignty and Data protection: growth levers for the continent.
Dr Raphael Koffi, Director of the Digital Economy of ECOWAS, moderated two panels on:
– Issues and Challenges for raising awareness about cyber security in Africa
– Cyber defense, a strategic asset for the continent (Cyber defense: a strategic asset for the continent)
He mentioned OCWAR-C, the first regional project of its kind in West Africa, in terms of strengthening cybersecurity and the fight against cybercrime funded by the European Union in partnership with the ECOWAS Commission.
Finally, OCWAR-C had a dedicated stand made available by the ECOWAS Commission.
