ABIDJAN, IVORY COAST
April 24-25th 2023
The 3rd edition of the Cyber Africa Forum (CAF) was held on 24 and 25 April 2023, at the Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire, in Côte d’Ivoire.
Organised under the theme “Challenges, actors and partnerships: what solutions to secure Africa’s digital transformation?
As a reference meeting in the field of digital security and trust, the event underlines the need to collaborate, cooperate and work together in order to make the fight against cybercrime a top priority.
Despite the opportunities that the digital revolution brings to the continent, there are also many challenges. Indeed, the year 2022 was marked by a considerable increase in the number of cyber attacks in Africa, which did not dry up in 2023. With some 1,848 attacks targeting an organisation in Africa every week, investment in cyber security is more than essential.
Dr Raphaël KOFFI, Director of Digital Economy and Post of the ECOWAS Commission, participated in the panel on the theme: “E-governance in Africa: challenges and prospects”.
This meeting was an opportunity to discuss the impact of information and communication technologies on governance in Africa.
